Case study: Stock Doctor

Updated: Jan 4, 2023

Personal branding photography may seem like a new buzzword, but it’s simply a photography genre promoting you and your business. It helps you be more visible and supports meeting your marketing plans, most of all, it helps you build trust.

I have promised you a real life example of how my clients are using their branding images. So, have a look at Stock Doctor's session to get more clarity and inspiration on how you can use your own photos.

Brand Introduction

Stock Doctor is the brand name for my client Vladimir who helps people become successful investors through Vladimir’s investment strategy developed during his professional career in financial services.

Vladimir needed a full collection of branding images for his new online investment course. Additionally, we created a selection of branding portraits for Stock Doctor’s digital marketing needs.

What we planned?

Our work started with a consultation and detailed planning which are essential for a successful branding session. We had a chat about Vladimir’s brand and his plans. This allowed me to get the idea of what we should create. Once I got more clarity about my client’s business, I prepared an inspiration mood board so Vladimir knew exactly how his session would look like. We discussed location, outfits and overall mood.

So, before the actual shoot day, we had everything planned. Vladimir’s job was to show up with outfits and with great energy. I always say that branding photography is all about the “feel” your clients are getting from your brand. Thus, I encourage you to think about how you want to present yourself and your business.

How we did it?

Our session took place in the studio and on location in Dundee city centre. We worked on creating a set of formal headshots and lifestyle portraits. Vladimir was very well prepared when it comes to outfits and everything was running smoothly. We ended up with a huge collection of images to choose from and we picked the ones that were best match for Vladimir’s plans.

Please note that once you will be making a list of your own branding shots, try to think where you will publish the photos. A banner for your website will have different crop than a headshot for LinkedIn. All these details matter and you want to make sure you will be using all of the images. You wouldn't like to end up with all portrait crops when you, in fact, need the horizontal ones.
